Cutting board
- 5 cups chopped watermelon including seeds (approximately 725 g)
- 1 cup cold water (or coconut water or sparkling water)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- ½ lime freshly juiced
- 1 pinch Sea salt
Add the chopped watermelon to a high-speed blender, then pour in the water, add the ice, squeeze in the lime juice, and finish with the pinch of sea salt. The blender jar should look full but still give the ingredients room to move freely.
Begin blending on low speed, then increase gradually to high and blend for 30 seconds. Starting low helps prevent splashing, and the drink is ready when it turns into a uniformly smooth pink liquid.
Pour the drink into glasses and serve right away. If it sits for a bit, give it a quick stir since the juice naturally separates.
Texture Tip: This drink can be served unstrained for a thicker, fruitier texture. For a smoother, more juice-like finish, pour the blended liquid through a fine-mesh sieve.
Flavor Tip: If your watermelon isn't very sweet, you can blend in a little agave or honey to taste. The pinch of salt is important as it helps brighten the watermelon's natural flavor.
Serving and Storage: The drink is best fresh, but if you have leftovers, keep them in a sealed container in the refrigerator. It will naturally separate, so simply stir well before serving.
