Easy Protein Waffles Recipe (high Protein & Fluffy)
Rebecca Blumer
Enjoy a crisp, Belgian-style breakfast with this high-protein waffle recipe. Made in a blender with oats and cottage cheese, these waffles are airy, filling, and perfect for a healthy morning routine.
Add the oats, egg whites, and cottage cheese to a blender. Blend until the batter looks completely smooth and creamy with no visible oat bits.
Pulse in 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and a pinch of sea salt to create an airy lift in the batter.
Let the blended batter rest for 3 to 5 minutes so the oats can hydrate, which results in a fluffier waffle.
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Heat your waffle iron to its highest setting. Once hot, coat the surface thoroughly with a high-heat non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
Cook Until Set and Golden
Pour the batter into the center of the iron and close the lid. Listen for the sizzle and wait for the oat aroma to bloom.
Cook until the steam stops or the iron signals it is done. Resist the urge to open the lid early so the structure sets properly.
Finish and Serve
Carefully remove the golden, crisp waffle and serve immediately with Greek yogurt, fruit, or syrup.
