Elevate your snacking with this creamy Chocolate Yogurt Bark. Featuring a velvet texture and fresh berry bursts, this gluten-free treat is perfectly balanced for a satisfying, cold dessert.
Line a large rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper. Smooth the paper flat to ensure even thickness and neat edges for the bark.
Mix the Yogurt Base
In a medium bowl, stir the Greek yogurt with the maple syrup (or honey) and vanilla extract. Mix until the surface looks glossy and uniform with no visible streaks.
For the velvet twist, you may whisk in 2 tablespoons of almond butter or tahini at this stage until the mixture is silky and turns a shade warmer.
Spread, Top, and Freeze
Spoon the yogurt mixture onto the prepared sheet pan. Spread it into a 10-by-15-inch rectangle, ensuring the layer is even and approximately 1/4 inch thick.
Scatter the sliced strawberries and mini chocolate chips evenly across the surface. Gently press the toppings into the yogurt so they adhere well.
Place the pan level in the freezer and freeze for at least 3 hours. The bark is ready when it is completely hard and no longer bendy in the center.
Cut or break the frozen slab into 32 pieces. Work quickly to keep the bark cold and serve immediately.
Notes
Texture Secret: Use whole-milk Greek yogurt rather than non-fat options. The higher fat content prevents large ice crystals from forming, resulting in a creamy bite rather than an icy slab.Storage Tip: Store the pieces in an airtight container or heavy-duty freezer bag with parchment paper between layers. This prevents the pieces from fusing together and helps avoid freezer burn.Serving Advice: Only remove the amount you plan to eat immediately. Because of the yogurt base, the bark will begin to soften into a pudding-like consistency if left at room temperature for more than 15 to 20 minutes.Nutrition information is estimated based on common ingredients and serving sizes and may vary.
