Equipment

  • Serving Tray

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz. block of Cream Cheese
  • 1 small jar of [Low-Sodium] Dried Beef
  • 1/2 package of dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 handful of Green Onions
  • A dash of Worcestershire Sauce (Optional)
  • 1 box of Crackers

Instructions

  • Leave the unwrapped cream cheese in a mixing bowl until pliable. A gentle finger press should leave a clean indentation without revealing an oily surface.
  • Cut the dried beef into confetti-sized squares and finely slice the green onions. The pieces should be small enough to distribute through the cheese without forming chewy clusters.
  • Work the beef, green onions, and dry ranch seasoning into the softened cheese, adding the optional dash of Worcestershire sauce if desired. The mixture should become evenly flecked with beef and onion rather than streaked with concentrated seasoning.
  • Finish blending with clean hands, wearing food-safe disposable gloves if preferred. The cheese should feel cohesive, with no firm cream cheese lumps remaining.

Notes

Ingredient tip: Taste the dried beef before mixing. If standard jarred beef tastes intensely salty, rinse it under cold water, drain, and press it thoroughly between paper towels until no surface water remains.
Texture tip: Cut cold block cream cheese into cubes so the center softens evenly along with the edges and prevents firm lumps when mixing.
Shaping tip: For a neater round shape, gather the mixed cheese in plastic wrap, cup your hands around it to smooth the curves, and refrigerate until it sits upright without slumping.
Storage: Keep the tightly wrapped cheese ball in a covered container in the refrigerator at 40°F or below, and do not leave it at room temperature for more than two hours total.
