Equipment

  • 12-inch pizza pan
  • bowl
  • Cookie Scoop

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes refrigerated crescent rolls (8 ounces each)
  • 1 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2/3 cup condensed cream of chicken soup undiluted
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh broccoli
  • 1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 1 can white chicken (5 ounces) drained, or 3/4 cup cubed cooked chicken
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion

Instructions

  • Build a circle on a 12-inch pizza pan with the crescent triangles, overlapping their broad ends and directing their tips away from the center. The overlapping dough should create a connected band wide enough to support the filling.
  • Stir the cheese, undiluted soup, broccoli, red pepper, water chestnuts, chicken, and onion together in a mixing bowl. The finished mixture should look evenly combined, thick, and scoopable.
  • Distribute the filling along the broad dough band, then bring each outer tip across it and secure the tip beneath the dough at the inner edge. Gaps between the strips should reveal some filling while the folded dough holds the ring together.
  • Bake at 375°F, allowing 20 to 25 minutes and checking for golden-brown pastry. The dough strips should look puffed and browned rather than pale and soft.

Notes

Ingredient tip: Keep the crescent roll tubes refrigerated until right before you arrange them so the cold triangles separate cleanly without stretching.
Texture tip: Use the condensed soup straight from the can and drain the chicken and vegetables well so the mixture stays thick like chicken salad and does not make the bottom crust soggy.
Serving tip: Let the baked ring rest for 5 minutes before slicing so the warm filling settles and holds together cleanly.
Storage: Refrigerate leftover slices within 2 hours and enjoy them within 3 to 4 days, or wrap chilled portions tightly to freeze.
Reheating: Warm leftover slices uncovered in the oven until the center reaches 165°F to help restore a crisp pastry exterior.
