Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Electric Mixer
  • Small saucepan
  • Medium bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cans Crescent rolls
  • 16 oz Cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted

Instructions

Prep the pan and build the base

  • Heat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Unroll one can of crescent rolls and press it into the bottom of the pan, smoothing and pinching all seams together to form a solid sheet.

Whip the cheesecake layer

  • In a medium bowl, blend the room temperature cream cheese with 1 cup of the granulated sugar, the salt, and the vanilla extract using an electric mixer until fluffy and smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border at the edges.

Top, butter, and bake

  • Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay it over the filling to cover the surface.
  • Brown the butter in a small saucepan until it smells nutty and turns amber, then pour it over the top dough and brush it to cover evenly.
  • Mix the remaining sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle it across the buttered surface.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until the top is deep golden brown and the edges are set.
  • Let the bars cool for 20 minutes before slicing into triangles to ensure the cheesecake layer is fully set.

Notes

Selection of Pan: Use a light-colored metal baking pan to ensure the bottom crust bakes through evenly and avoids a soggy texture.
Seam Sealing: Take extra care to pinch the seams of the crescent dough together on the bottom layer to prevent the cream cheese filling from leaking underneath.
Cooling Time: Allow the bars to rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing; this helps the cheesecake layer set for clean, firm triangles.
